02:43 am - The End of an Era...
Fear not, fellow sisters, this is not a farewell post. This is merely a statement that recognizes that some things have come to an end, but not everything.

One such thing that has come to an end is BEST's HQ at Bldg 138 Apt 204 at The Colleges At La Rue. It has been 4 long and wonderful years, Sisters. We've had many wonderful memories at Apt 204 and those memories will forever be kept in our hearts (and, hopefully, in many photos). Many of you were able to witness the birth and growth of our proud Sorority in Apt 204; from the small dinners prepared by Beta, Epsilon, and Sigma to the grand dinner party; from the small anime/tv show viewings to the large movie gatherings. And, as the time passed, some of you watched as we slowly put a close on that chapter in our lives as we moved out or cleaned the apt. And really with the departure of Head Sisters Beta and Sigma, already the HQ at 204 was beginning to fade. But, I'm glad to say that before the inevitable end there were a few sisters that re-emerged from their absence (you know who you are). And for one all too brief day, most of the sisterhood had gathered together and BEST was whole again. Although we did not all spend time at Apt 204, that was where the gathering began and from there, as we celebrated the reunion of BEST, other sisters joined us on such a special occasion. So here is my formal farewell to Apt 204. You have served us well and your resistance our abuse and neglect is remarkable. While we may not be your best tenants, we will most certainly not be your worst. You were not not large, but not overly tiny and allowed BEST a place to house its Sisters and Associates.

But just because our old HQ is gone does not mean we do not have another one. In fact, because the Head Sisters of BEST have moved on and moved away, it only means that we are branching out. Therefore, with the power vested in me as one of the four Founders of BEST, I, Tau, declare that the new BEST HQ of Davis be the new home of Head Sister Sigma and our Sister Jeff (I unfortunately am not aware of the address at the moment but that will be provided later). I also declare that Sister Beta's home be the New York HQ of BEST. In the Mountain View area, Sister Epsilon's home shall be our new HQ. In the SF Peninsula I, Sister Tau, will provide my home as our HQ. Now, with the new schools or jobs and the new people we meet, we can spread our Sisterhood and keep it alive. Granted, it will not be the same as it was before, but the important thing is that we keep our Sorority and our friendship alive.

We are all moving on with our lives and we are all moving on with our dreams. And so BEST is moving right along with us, adapting with every change and obstacle that comes in our way. So worry not my dear Sisters. While this may very well be an end of an era, it is also the beginning of a new one. In order to help keep our Sisterhood alive, I encourage you all to keep in better touch with each other. Once I have more free time I will make Sister Epsilon a basic LJ so she can keep better tabs on us and us on her (we'll find a way to make her update =P). But while we have LiveJournal there are those of us who are no longer as active. So, send emails, send letters, make phone calls, have dinners, organize get togethers. Make time for each other because that's what friends do. Stay friends and stay sisters.

And of course... Have You had Your Orange Today?

04:03 am - Katrina's Kards Inc
AAAAAAAAGH Spaaaam! Yes I'm LJ Spamming your Friend's Page. I can't help it it's, 4am and well... I'm feeling pseudo-productive (not entirely productive because everyone who reads this community, I'm assuming, reads my LJ...but I could be wrong).

Anyway, I finally put up katrinakardsinc my Card Selling Site. It will eventually include other crafty stuff (fancy tags, favors), but I've yet to make them.

You can see my Guidelines or Miscellaneous Cards that I made many many months ago. I also have just a few of the Christmas Cardsthat I did for 2005. Unfortunately I gave some of the good ones awaybefore I could take photos... Doh! Recently (and this is what I'mhoping will rope you all in!) I have my Valentines Day Cards! So far most o f the cards are geared for Couples and such but I willsoon have some up that will be general and good for friends and familyeven if you want. And of course, Dan and Emie want their "HappyValentines AssFace/Biatch" Line of Cards as well, which will be fun.

Ifyou do peruse all the cards or most of them, keep in mind that i fyoulike a particular design, whater category it falls under, I can almostalways alter it to fit any other occasion. And also, remember that I'mwilling to make a card entirely from scratch just for you - just tellme what you want and how you want it.

Also, I've got a fewideas on making small favors (and tags for them) for events so if youneed such a thing, let me know. It'll be good for Valentines for thoseof you who want to give chocolates or other candies to friends/familyetc.

Spread the word! Everything's Cheap! I'm not out to makea profit - I just want to have some fun but not kill my bank account inthe process. =P

We'll be having a potluck-ish dinner again this Tuesday at my place on J. We'll probably be having some teriaki chicken and fried rice. Feel free to bring a vegetable to add to the dish (or as a side), something for us to drink, or some bread to have on the side. Cooking will start at 5:30, so feel free to stop by and cook, eat, or just say hi. After about 7, if people want to stay and do homework and such, you're welcome to do so. I'm going to try to do this every Tuesday, to give us a chance to see each other amid our hectic lives.

07:55 am - Dinner this week
Okay everyone,
Dinner this Tuesday will be at my house on J, with cooking starting at around 5:30. I'll be making vegetarian chili. rwcsmiles will be bringing a a vegetable of her choice for us to steam as a side dish. Everyone is invited to at least stop by and say hello, if not stay for the food. If you'd like to bring food to contribute to the general meal, here are some options:
bell peppers for the chili
tofu (the bulk stuff at the Co-op near my house is cheap)

I hope to see you guys there!

01:11 pm - Tuesday night dinners
Okay everyone, Board Memeber Epsilon and I were just discussing how we rarely get to cook together anymore, and we've decided to start having Tuesday Night Dinners. We'll alternate every other week having it at #204 and having it at J St. This is a general invitation for people to stop by, even if for just 15 minutes on those nights to say hi and tell us what's been going on.

10:18 am - The Annual Non-Denominational Winter Holiday Party!
That's right everyone, The Annual Non-Denominational Winter Holiday Party is just around the corner! Come one, come all, and bring a dessert! This year's holiday party will be hosted at Board Memeber Sigma's new residence on J Street, so as to provide plenty of room for the various sweets you wish to bring. There will be gift-exchanging ($5-$10 limit please), the traditional decorating of our ficus tree, decorating cookies, and eating more refined sugar than we have in the past year! The weekend being proposed is Friday, December 9 to Sunday, December 11. Please vote on which day suits you best (keeping in mind your finals schedule). I will try to send out e-mails as well, for those of you not on livejournal. Please have votes in by December 1. We will try to accommodate the most people possible.

04:40 pm - Farewell to Our Sisters
Since Nick and Chelsea are leaving for Oregon on Weds, they are having a little shindig at their place Monday night.

Taken from sarian19

an honest to gawd shindig

In honor of the fact that we're leaving this Godforsaken shitbox for evAr, we're having a shindig. Y'all are invited for drinks and general hanging out Monday night. Now we know it's a school/work night and that sucks, but it's about the best we can do given conflicting schedules. In order to accomodate all you people with lives, it's gonna be like an open house deal from like seven on, just stop on by, even if it's just to say hi. We'll have drinks (Mike's mixing), music (Mike might be mixing again), and general good times (if you want to go for more mixing with Mike, well there's no help I can give you). We wants to see you all and for once there's parking. So won't you all come on by and give a visit so we can shut this hell hole down in proper style.

So yeah be there to support our Sisters. Also, Becca should be there and it'll be a good last shindig with Mike as well.
